Tribute Event in Johannesburg for Cuba’s Fidel Castro (Wed 30 Nov at 7pm)

29 November 2016

Fidel Castro, the revolutionary Cuban leader, comrade of Nelson Mandela (click here), supporter of the anti-apartheid movement (click here), ally of African liberation movements (click here) and friend of the Palestinian struggle (click here) has passed away.

In 2014, in an article titled “Palestinian Holocaust in Gaza”, Castro wrote: “Why does the government of this country [Israel] think that the world will be impervious to this macabre genocide that is being committed today against the Palestinian people?” In 1973, under Castro, Cuba broke all diplomatic relations with Israel.
