PUBLIC STATEMENT: #Africa4Palestine expands board with 2 additional members

16 April 2021

The human rights organisation, #Africa4Palestine, is pleased to announce an expansion of our board. We have added two new members – Mr Khaya Solomon Xaba and Ms Michia Molemoeng Moncho.

Mr Khaya Solomon Xaba is currently the Spokesperson for the National Education, Health and Allied Workers Union (NEHAWU) and was the former National Spokesperson of the Young Communist League of South Africa (YCLSA). Xaba serves on the board of the Media, Information and Communication Technologies Sector Education and Training Authority (MICT SETA). Xaba studied Journalism at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) and Public Administration at the University of the Western Cape (UWC). Khaya is a long-time volunteer in the Palestine solidarity movement, a committed activist and internationalist at heart.

Ms Michia Molemoeng Moncho is from Northern Cape province, where she has been involved in youth and gender activism for over a decade. Moncho was the 2018 Coordinator of the #IsraeliApartheidWeek campaign, which, by all indicators, was one of the most successful ever held in South Africa. She is currently studying towards her BA Degree in Community Development and is the Provincial Organizer for the SACP as well as the Provincial Chairperson of the YCL SA in the Northern Cape.

The board of #Africa4Palestine is the organisation’s highest decision making body that decides on strategy and oversees the running of the organisation.
