This past Thursday (26 March 2020), at 07h30, Israeli forces destroyed a Palestinian emergency clinic being setup to treat Palestinian coronavirus patients.
The human rights organization, Btselem, has commented: “As the whole world battles an unprecedented and paralyzing healthcare crisis, Israel’s military is devoting time and resources to harassing the most vulnerable Palestinian communities…shutting down a first-aid community initiative during a health crisis is an especially cruel example of the regular abuse inflicted on these communities, and it goes against basic human and humanitarian principles during an emergency. Unlike Israel’s policies, this pandemic does not discriminate based on nationality, ethnicity or religion. Click here.
A Palestinian shoemaker, Amjad Zaghir, has creatively adapted his small shoe factory into a face-mask manufacturing plant to assist his people in the fight against the spread of Coronavirus.
His factory now produces over 10 000 surgical masks a day, which he sells at a symbolic price of $1. He is so successful that Israeli settlers, who live illegally on nearby Palestinian land, have turned to him for help. Click here.
