PRESS INVITE: Protest for Wednesday 12 May

On the back of various pickets that took place earlier today, a major protest march will be held tomorrow (Wednesday 12 May 2021) in Cape Town.
The protest march is being supported by political parties across the spectrum including the ANC, EFF, Good Party, SACP, ANC Youth League, YCL, Al Jamaah and NFP together with civil society organisations including the Muslim Judicial Council, the Al Quds Foundation, Kairos Southern Africa, PSC, Media Review Network, National Coalition 4 Palestine (NC4P) and #Africa4Palestine.
The Palestine protest march will start at 11h00 in District Six and end at the Parliament of South Africa.
This past weekend Israeli forces stormed the AlAqsa mosque attacking worshippers who were praying. Then, last night Israel killed over 25 Palestinians including 9 children under the age of 16 in air strikes against Palestinian neighbourhoods.
The recent Israeli violence against Palestinians come on the back of the forceful removals by Israeli extremists of entire Palestinian families from the Jerusalem neighbourhood of Sheikh Jarrah. These force removals remind us of our own history of house demolitions under Apartheid.
