Africa for Palestine stands in solidarity with the global BDS movement for Palestinian liberation and fully endorses the upcoming International Week of Action: Resisting Genocide – Boycott for Palestinian
Liberation, taking place from October 4 to 13, 2024. This week calls for a unified, global response to the ongoing genocide against Palestinians and demands an end to over 76 years of occupation and oppression.
After enduring a year of intensified genocidal aggression, the Palestinian people need urgent, coordinated
international action. This Week of Action is a clarion call for all justice advocates to organise and mobilise
within their communities, workplaces, and campuses. Africa for Palestine echoes the global demand to end
Israel’s genocidal policies and further isolate the apartheid regime through boycotts, divestment, and
targeted actions against companies and institutions complicit in these human rights violations. Now is the
time to hold these powers accountable and strengthen the global Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS)
movement as an effective mechanism for change.
We urge our supporters across Africa to engage in actions aligned with the daily themes of the Week of
Action, which include:
• Day of Action for Palestinian Children
• Day of Action for Palestinian Journalists
• Day of Action for Palestinian Political Prisoners
• Day of Action for the Palestinian Resistance
• Day of Action for Palestinian Refugees & The Right to Return
This movement is not only about resisting a year of heightened violence—it is a fight for the total liberation of Palestine, from the river to the sea. #Africa4Palestine calls upon governments, civil society organizations, businesses, and individuals across the continent to join us in this crucial moment. Together, we can expose the complicity of those enabling oppression and amplify the voices of Palestinians who have long fought for their freedom, dignity, and right to return. As an organisation dedicated to justice, we also recognise the critical role that international powers—especially the United States, Canada, Britain, and the European Union—have played in supporting Israel’s genocidal regime through political, military, and economic aid.
Africa for Palestine calls on all allies to endorse, participate in, and actively promote this International
Week of Action. Let us organise boycotts, marches, political education events, and direct actions. Together,
we will demand justice for the Palestinian people and an end to the ongoing genocide.
